PROGRAMS
LIFT Career Resource Center is a non-profit business that provides career services and community resources to young adults, 18 to 25 years old, who have emancipated or “aged out” of the foster care system in the Greater Los Angeles Area.
Through LIFT’S program, LIFT Mentors will assist our clients in prevention through intervention by providing resources and establishing career goals. The LIFT Mentor will partner with the Foster Care representatives during the transition phase and beyond to adequately meet the youth’s needs. This will be achieved by assisting youth in 5 key areas: (1) Life Skills (2) Education (3) Career Mapping (4) Job Skills and (5) Apprenticeship Programs. With resources provided by LIFT Career Resource Center partners, the client will be mentored by an individual LIFT Mentor, to assist with immediate needs through available resources. The mentor will assist the at-risk youth by promoting positive life skills, helping to secure housing, food, personal needs and mapping of career/educational goals. LIFT’s goal in promoting positive life skills and career training is geared toward helping the client become successful and independent in all facets of life.
